Curzon Midnight Movies and Cine-Excess III are running ‘A Night with George A. Romero’ on May 1 - a tribute to this icon of cult cinema. Films to be screened will be:

"Fuck it Dude, Let's go Bowl.."

The Movie The Big Lebowski is one of my all time favorites.. You know, The Dude. His Dudeness, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.. I remember renting it at Westcoast video an not returning it.. The Big Lebowski is a staple of cult cinema.. There's really nothing else out there like The Big Lebowski.. The Coens' have made many great films, but they never made one funnier or more bizarre (and yes, I include Barton Fink in that statement).. There's something magical about seeing Jeff Bridges play the laziest bum of a man who finds himself dragged in to all kinds of surreal situations. The supporting cast is beyond outstanding, with Coen regulars John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, and John Turturro all doing wonderful work.
